Municipal day nurseries
Managed by the City of Montpellier, municipal collective daycare centers offer regular and occasional care, primarily during the day.
Each municipal collective daycare center can accommodate between 20 and 70 children, aged under 3, whose parents are working, students or on an internship or training course.
Slots can be reserved for parents on integration schemes or families in great difficulty.
Several types of reception
Depending on parents' needs, childcare can be:
- full-time
- part-time
- half-day
It is also possible to book 2 half-days a week directly with the facility manager for occasional childcare.
Crèches can offer temporary after-school or extra-curricular childcare for children under 6. The frequency and duration of attendance are the subject of a formal request for regular care signed between the family and the Pôle Petite Enfance management at the Relation Familles et Guichet Unique service for a minimum of one month.
A multidisciplinary team
Educateurs de jeunes enfants, auxiliaires de puériculture, assistants petite enfance, agents techniques (cuisinier, lingère, agents d'entretien)... A team of professionals, whose number and qualifications are regulated, supports the management team made up of a state-qualified nursery nurse or a young children's educator.
To complete these teams, a health and inclusive care referent, a psychologist, a psychomotrician, a sector manager and a social service assistant may also be involved.
Good to know
Meals are prepared on site. However, some establishments are not yet equipped with a kitchen or cold link and therefore do not offer this service.
