Staff and missions

The PMT is made up of 42 police officers. This is the largest police force in France dedicated to this task. Through their presence and actions, they support the free service. They intervene in collaboration with the 82 Agents d'Accompagnement, de Contrôle et de Sécurisation (AACS) of TaM.

In 2024, the teams were reinforced with dog handlers. They have a direct link with the police municipale de Montpellier.

Missions

The police officers' missions are to protect tramway and bus line users from incivilities and acts of delinquency. In this way, they help to reinforce confidence in the public transport system, which is free for all residents of the metropolis. They operate 7 days a week in the 31 communes of the metropolis.

They are armed with a semi-automatic pistol, an incapacitating generator and a telescopic baton.
