Ongoing dialogue
The City of Montpellier maintains ongoing relations with foreign communities through its consulates and representative associations. The main themes of these actions revolve around integration into the city through the development of citizenship and international solidarity.
A permanent dialogue with associations and consulates
- Permanent dialogue with associations of European nationals.
- Connecting Maisons pour tous with European Union countries.
Solidarity and humanitarian emergency actions
City support for local associations and NGOs in terms of communication, logistics (collection, storage) and financial support (exceptional subsidies).
Montpellier Foreigners' Council
The Montpellier Foreigners' Council enables foreigners to be welcomed, to express themselves and to participate in local life, and has the following objectives:
- continue to mobilize for the right of non-Community residents to vote in local elections;
- facilitate consultation and cooperation between foreigners and the City of Montpellier;
- share and value foreign cultures and their contributions to local life ;
- develop educational, socio-cultural and artistic activities open to the diversity of the world, encouraging exchanges and encounters between all residents;
- promote the city's sustainable economic and human development, its attractiveness, peace and cooperation in Europe and the world.
