Child-parent drop-in centers to support and advise parents
A child-parent drop-in center (LAEP) is a friendly, playful space that welcomes young children (aged 0 to 4) accompanied by their parents or a referring adult (grandparents, etc.).
It's a place to support parenthood where:
- Parents and children share moments of play and discovery: games, toys and activities are made available to encourage interaction between adults and children.
- Parents discuss, exchange and share experiences creating social ties.
- Children socialize by playing with other children, they learn to share, cooperate and discover the world around them.
- Early childhood professionals (psychologists, early childhood educators, nursery nurses...) present can provide advice and support to parents on the education of their children.
Family information meetings
The city and its partners offer young parents meetings and events to inform them about childcare options, artistic and cultural early-learning schemes and parenting support.
Online or in the Maisons pour tous, everyone will find the information they're looking for.
Toy libraries to share moments of play

A toy library is a place like a library, but instead of books, there are toys, board games, puzzles and many other playful treasures. Parents and children can play on site, take part in the activities on offer or borrow games.
In Montpellier, some toy libraries are open from the age of 2 (children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult)
.Maisons pour tous: social and cultural spaces in the heart of neighborhoods

The Maisons pour tous are social and cultural centers open to all. They are spaces for meeting, exchanging and sharing, and play an essential role in neighborhood life.
The activities on offer are varied: plastic art workshops, music, dance, cooking, IT, language...
Cultural and leisure spaces, they transform in turn into rooms for games, sports, concerts, exhibitions, conferences, screenings... Their mission is to foster social ties, promote culture and sport, support local initiatives, and combat isolation.
Some Maisons pour tous host LAEPs to support parenthood.
Festival de l'éveil des tout-petits

The Festival de l'éveil des tout-petits is organized every year in November by the City of Montpellier. It is aimed at children aged 0 to 6, their parents and early childhood professionals. For a whole month, young-audience shows, exhibitions and a host of free activities and entertainment are offered in all the city's districts.
This event reflects the partnership work built up over several years between the Pôle Petite Enfance, the Maisons pour tous and the city's various cultural institutions.
The partnerships were then extended to associations, artistic companies, child-parent drop-in centers.... Through this event, the aim is to promote and work towards a universal right to early learning and socialization for children aged 0 to 6.

Training offers familiarize professionals with the tools offered by the museum in order to support them in their approach to bringing toddlers on visits.
For added comfort, the Musée Fabre is equipped with changing tables at various points along the tour route. Visits by professionals with children are free.
A storytelling and reading area for toddlers at cultural events
For many years, the Pôle Petite Enfance has set up a storytelling and reading area at various events such as the Comédie du Livre - 10 jours en mai, the mini ZAT (Temporary Artistic Zone), the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) or the Nuit des Musées (Museum Night) hosted by Early Childhood professionals.
