Allotment gardens
In Montpellier, it's possible to rent plots dedicated to gardening: these are known as allotment gardens. The first were set up in the Mosson district, in Malbosc, in 2004.
Today, we have 4 areas listing plots in the city:
- the allotment gardens of Malbosc district Mosson,
- the allotment gardens of Grands Grès district Port Marianne,
- the allotment gardens of Rieucoulon and Mas Nouguier, Croix d'Argent district.
Comment louer un jardin ?
La location des parcelles est réservée aux habitants de Montpellier ne possédant pas de jardin.
- Nous vous invitons à aller visiter les sites des jardins familiaux avant de faire votre demande.
- Un seul jardin est attribué par foyer.
- La sélection se fait sur liste d’attente, par ordre d’ancienneté.
- L’inscription sur liste d’attente se fait en ligne et doit être renouvelée chaque année. Un mail de rappel vous est adressé 1 mois avant l’expiration de votre demande.
- Le délai d’attente peut aller jusqu’à 6ans.
Renting a plot
Rates:
- 1.10€/m2/year.
- 55€/year for a 50m2 plot,
- 132€/year for a 120m2 plot.
- The rental is valid for one year and must be renewed each year.
Please note that plot rental is reserved for Montpellier residents who do not own a garden.
On each allotment site, an associative structure made up of plot beneficiaries is being set up. The main missions of these associative structures will be the animation and management of the site, promoting collective activities.
A charter will bind each associative structure to the City, which will guarantee the transparency and smooth running of the scheme.
