Open-air libraries, creative workshops, meetings with renowned authors and illustrators... Partir en Livre transforms leisure and vacation venues into veritable havens of reading and imagination.

A summer of discovery and sharing

For 4 weeks, from June to July, Partir en Livre invites children and teenagers to immerse themselves in thrilling literary adventures.

Thousands of free initiatives open to all are organized throughout France to awaken the curiosity and nurture the imaginations of young readers.

The Media Library Network at the heart of the event

The network of media libraries plays a crucial role in the success of Partir en Livre. Every year, it hosts talented authors and illustrators in mediation residencies, and organizes numerous events both inside and outside its walls.

The program for this free, entertaining event includes libraries in the shade of trees, writing or creative workshops, highlights, a beach library with theatrical improvisations, shows, large wooden games and board games.

In 2022, children were able to meet illustrators Marie Boisson and Nathalie Trovato and discover their enchanting worlds. The following year, authors Pénélope and Nancy Guilbert shared their captivating stories with young readers.

In 2024, the Réseau des médiathèques et de la culture scientifique took part in the 10th edition of Partir en Livre, whose theme was "Sports and Games". A great program was put together with numerous events, readings, workshops and shows throughout the Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole territory.
