Since January 1, 2015, 31 communes have been united within Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole. This public establishment for intercommunal cooperation (EPCI) is administered by a Council made up of 92 elected members: mayors and municipal councillors from the member communes, elected by their Municipal Council. With its many compulsory powers, it is an important link in the organization of the territory, at the service of its citizens.
