Raising awareness of waste reduction among schoolchildren

As part of its Zero Waste strategy, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole wishes to focus on raising awareness among young audiences (from kindergarten to senior high school) of waste reduction, bio-waste management (sorting and composting) and waste sorting by massively developing interventions during school, extracurricular and after-school time.

The main objectives of these activities for young people in Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole are:

• To raise the "eco-citizen" awareness of young people in Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole on the theme of waste prevention,
• To introduce pupils to new ways of reducing their waste through activities and workshops.

Through this catalog of activities, we aim to offer Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole teachers and organizers concrete tools to help achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular those related to waste reduction.
