A new parking scheme has been progressively implemented since summer 2022 to offer more available spaces, fight against sucker cars (parked more than 7 days in a row) and facilitate access to shops.

Paid parking

  • Pay parking is available Monday to Saturday, 9am to 7pm.
  • Pay parking is free on Sundays and public holidays.
  • New free very short-term parking spaces (30 min maximum).

On-street parking is divided into 3 paid zones and one free very-short-term zone (30 min):

  • Green zone, limited to 10 h,
  • Red zone, limited to 30 min (see below)

For professionals

For employees and professionals working in Montpellier, there is now a "Professional" parking package intended for any employee whose company is located in a paid parking zone in Montpellier (excluding Ecusson).

For people with disabilities

Users holding the European Parking Card (CES) or the Mobility Inclusion Card (CMI) with the "parking" mention benefit from free parking on all paid spaces (law of 18-03-2015).

In order to combat fraudulent use of reserved parking cards, CES or CMI holders must identify themselves to park in peace on paid spaces on Montpellier streets.

There are 3 ways of registering your vehicle:

  • Subscription: the solution for beneficiaries who use their vehicle regularly. Registration is carried out on the TaM website or by making an appointment with an advisor at Espace Mobilité, bringing the following documents with you: MDPH certificate, ID card, passport photo and vehicle registration document. Your vehicle's registration is valid for 3 years, so you can park freely without having to pick up a ticket at the ticket machine.
When the parking card holder uses a vehicle other than the one registered in the subscription, simply declare the vehicle "temporary" using the M'Ticket application.
  • L'appli' M'Ticket TaM: the solution for beneficiaries who frequently use their own vehicle and/or different vehicles.
The vehicle used is registered on your cell phone, via the M'Ticket application, which generates a 24h free ticket.
Thanks to the application, you don't have to go to the ticket office.
  • The ticket office: the solution for the beneficiary occasionally using his vehicle and/or different vehicles.
The registration of the vehicle used is carried out directly at the ticket office, which generates a 24h free ticket.

The European Parking Card or Mobility Inclusion Card must be prominently displayed behind the windscreen.

Card holders can benefit from 24 consecutive hours of free parking in Montpellier's paid on-street spaces. Parking is authorized, on the same space, for 7 consecutive days.
