Fountain La Licorne

  • 1770: Decision to erect a fountain on Place de l'Hôtel de Ville (now Place Jean Jaurès)
  • 1773: Its execution entrusted to D'Antoine, like that of the Trois Grâces
  • May 21, 1776: The fountain is installed in the planned location
  • 1865: it is moved to Place de la Canourgue

It depicts upright sea horses or unicorns, above a bas-relief depicting the battle of Closterkamp, in honor of Marshal de Castries.
