Cinema under the stars
Giving audiences a taste for going to see a film together. That's what Cinéma sous les étoiles is all about. An annual festival with quality film programming for young and old, organized in a festive, guinguette spirit.
Projections take place in 15 towns across the metropolis (different from one year to the next): parc Bocaud in Jacou, parc du Château in Pignan, carrières de la Font d'Armand in Sussargues, place du marché in Prades-le-Lez, espace la Cadoule in Vendargues, stade de soccer in Montaud...
Organized by the Domaine d'O in August, the festival attracts 7,500 spectators each year.
Films that have already been shown include: La Chèvre (Francis Veber); Les Demoiselles de Rochefort (Jacques Demy); Le bon, la brute et le truand (Sergio Leone); Pulp fiction (Quentin Tarantino); The Wizard of Oz (Victor Fleming, King Vidor, George Cukor)...
After each screening is shown an animated short made by final-year students from the Esma and Artfx schools.
