Since 2020, Montpellier has made education a priority and is pursuing an ambitious policy to ensure the educational success of the 21,500 pupils in its 113 schools and 21 municipal leisure centers. In order to meet these ambitions and ensure a high standard of care, the Education Department employs 1,400 permanent staff.
The Education Division is organized around a department responsible for educational action, in charge of providing support to school and leisure center staff, and 2 central departments: the Strategy and User Relations Department and the Resources and Regulations Department.
The Direction déléguée action éducative is looking for a Territorial Service Manager to complete its management team.
With proven experience in strategic management and project management, you will directly supervise 4 A-level executives and 2 administrative staff to ensure the smooth running of a territory covering 12 to 15 school groups, i.e. around 300 employees.
You know how to give meaning to missions and establish a clear working framework to guarantee compliance with instructions and the autonomy of your teams. You are used to managing in project mode. You have a sense of public service and a keen interest in children, education and entertainment.

Vos principales missions
- Participate in defining strategic directions for education
- Guarantee implementation of the City's educational policy in conjunction with the educational project support department
- Ensure the safety of facilities, teams and users
- Promote internal communication and ensure the dissemination of information within your department
- Dynamize collaborative teamwork, develop exchanges of practices
- Guarantee optimal management of human and technical resources within the facilities
- Work in coordination with your counterparts (4 territorial departments cover the commune)
- Supervise cross-functional thematic dossiers on behalf of the department

- You have significant management experience
- You have good cross-functional skills, and are recognized for your ability to engage in dialogue and consultation.
- You know how to negotiate, make proposals and take decisions in a context of loyalty and a sense of public service.
- You have a good knowledge of the orientations, challenges and regulatory framework of education policy.
