Temps de lecture : 1 minute
  • June 1770: decision to erect a fountain, place de la Canourgue
  • 1773: D'Antoine, a sculptor from Marseilles, is chosen and places an order for marble in Carrara
  • 1776: the fountain is completed, the work is officially "received", but the fountain is not installed, the town sues D'Antoine
  • 1797: the fountain is installed on Place de la Comédie, after the demolition of the Porte de Lattes

The Three Graces remain on Place de la Comédie variously arranged over time.

  • 1989: the Three Graces are moved for casting: they are cast in resin (the original statues are being restored)
  • June 21, 1989: the statues are removed for casting and put back a few weeks later.
  • January 2003: renovation work on the fountain comes to an end. Two basins lined with calandons recall the fountain's former appearance. Water effects consisting of a trickle down the steps and cross jets also contribute to the enhancement and embellishment of the three Graces. The fountain's curbstone, external gutter and cherubs are also highlighted by blue lights at night.
