House of Justice and Law - Montpellier

Temps de lecture : 1 minute

The Maisons de justice et du droit and its players (court clerks, lawyers, notaries, bailiffs, association jurists, Défenseur des droits delegates, conciliators, mediators) welcome you free of charge and inform you about your rights and obligations.

The operation of the structures is the subject of a partnership between the Centre départemental d'accès aux droits (part of the Ministry of Justice), Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole and the City of Montpellier as part of the work of the Local Security and Delinquency Prevention Council (CLSPD).

Access to rights is one of the levers on which delinquency prevention policies can be based. There are 2 Maisons de justice et du droit (MJD) in the Metropolitan area.

The missions of these 2 centers are to:

  • inform users about their rights, procedures and the implementation of amicable dispute resolution methods
  • help victims and meet the legal needs of those subject to the law
  • provide a free local legal presence by putting interested parties in touch with professionals or interveners
