Tree donation
What is tree donation?

The case of the tree is special in that it doesn't necessarily concern public space. The tree is simply given to you by the City for you to plant on the private space of your choice.
If you're applying as a condominium, you can request up to 15 trees. If not, the City limits the fruit tree donation to 1 per season.
How does it work?
The City will come and check that the location at which you wish to plant the tree is suitable for its installation.
Once the request is accepted by the City, you will be contacted to collect your tree from the Château de Grammont municipal estate. Trees are donated at the end of the autumn season (around December).
You'll have to install it right away and take good care of it. The City will then come and check that the installation has taken place in the planned location.
In brief
What the city does:
- Donation of a tree
- Award in autumn
Installation and maintenance requirements:
- Come pick up and install your tree
- For condominium garden requests, provide the attestation on honor on the feasibility of planting (available upon registration)
Which tree to choose?
You can choose from the following species:
- Montpellier maple (acer monspessulanum)
- Huckthorn (Arbutus unedo)
- Micocoulier (celtis)
- Azerolier (Crataegus azarolus)
- Hazelnut (ficus carica)
- Olive tree (olea europaea)
- Almond tree ( prunus dulcis)
- Green oak (quercus ilex)
- Domestic orbit (sorbus domestica)
- Grape tree (Vitex agnus-castus)
Where and when can you collect your greening voucher?
The registration period runs each year from January 1 to June 30. Revegetation vouchers are distributed in November.
Climate issues are forcing us to be vigilant about water consumption and to choose the best planting period. The city of Montpellier has therefore decided to extend the vegetation voucher to one season/year.
If your application is accepted, your vegetation voucher is to be collected at the Centre Horticole municipal:
