Epidemic and pandemic risk

An epidemic is limited to a very specific geographical region. It can therefore become a pandemic, if the disease is not managed in time.

Epidemic VS pandemic

  • An epidemic corresponds to the rapid development and progression of a contagious disease, most often of infectious origin, in a population (example: influenza, H1N1, Ebola, Measles, etc.).)
  • A pandemic corresponds to an epidemic affecting the entire population of a continent, or even the entire world (e.g. Plague, Spanish flu, Cholera, AIDS, COVID-19, etc.
).

Adopt the right reflexes

  • Wash your hands.
  • Respect physical distancing.
  • Wear a mask.
  • Use single-use tissues.

These barrier gestures may vary depending on your state of health, the collective risk and national postures.
