Objectives

Giving Rue du Faubourg Boutonnet a new lease of life

The lower part of Rue du Faubourg Boutonnet, between Place Krasucki and Place Albert 1er, is to be completely renovated. The outdated water and wastewater networks will be renewed, and the comfort of pedestrians, who currently walk on very narrow sidewalks, will be improved. Spaces will be embellished and planted where possible. Objectives: for a lively faubourg, safe paths for schoolchildren and pedestrians, strengthening local commerce.

Giving new life to the Lieutenant Normand stadium

The Lieutenant Normand stadium, owned by the State, is currently closed. The municipality would like to see it opened up and redesigned for the benefit of schools, sports clubs and even neighborhood uses.

Renovate and beautify Place Émile Combes

Today a parking lot given over to asphalt and cars, Place Émile Combes deserves to be rethought and beautified to make it a new, lively public space in the heart of Beaux-Arts. An active, friendly and tree-lined square.

Optimizing the parking offer

Giving more space to pedestrians, terraces, bicycles and greenery means reclaiming space from cars. In this context, on-street parking must be optimized to best meet the needs of businesses and residents alike. The first very short-term free parking zones were created in the summer of 2022 to support local businesses.

More may be created as public spaces are improved.

Improving the Place des Beaux-Arts

The charm and freshness of its hackberry trees, the quality of its shops and the friendliness of its market make the Place des Beaux-Arts a popular destination. Freed of parking and some traffic, by spring 2021 it has gained new spaces for pedestrians and terraces.

Creating comfortable pedestrian routes

Connecting with the town center, rue Proudhon and rue de la Cavalerie link the neighborhood's squares and amenities. On the busiest stretches, it is proposed to widen at least one sidewalk to create comfortable routes, accessible to the elderly or those with reduced mobility and parents with baby carriages, and if possible planted with trees.

Developing nature in the city

Rue Moquin Tandon, Avenue Bouisson Bertrand: opportunities to desilt soil and green public spaces have been identified.

Rethinking the city at children's height

The creation of "streets for schoolchildren" is a priority to enable children to walk or cycle safely to school.

An initial temporary arrangement has been put in place on rue Sainte-Lucie in the vicinity of the Condorcet school.

Easier access to the new Suzanne Babut park

Children and parents could walk safely from the Condorcet school to the Suzanne Babut park. To this end, the small rue Franceze de Cezelli could accommodate a pedestrian link designed at children's height.
