Educational activities

Cinemed is committed to raising awareness of cinema among the very young through 5 educational activities:

  • Educational workshop: every year Cinemed organizes a preparatory workshop as part of the baccalaureate preparation for cinema-audiovisual option classes
  • Cinemed screening for middle schools: On the opening day of the festival, a special junior high school short film session will be held to encourage secondary school students to discover cinematographic works and take part in cultural activities in cinemas.
  • Young audience festival : every year, Cinemed offers a selection of 8 "Cinema Discovery" films for primary and nursery school children in the Metropole and the City of Montpellier.
  • "Flying fish" workshop: this workshop supports around ten young people under the age of 15 in making a short film. The workshop follows a schedule divided between creative phases (writing, shooting, editing) and immersion phases at the heart of the festival (screenings, meetings with professionals, etc...).
  • "Fais ton reportage" workshop: young people aged 12 to 18 can produce a report on the occasion of the festival to highlight the latest film news from the Mediterranean basin.
