Les Internationales de la Guitare

Blues, French chanson, pop/rock, swing jazz, flamenco, classical... Guitarists from all over the world and from a variety of musical universes take the Occitanie region by storm at the Internationales de la Guitare.

Organized every year from September to October by the Montpellier-based Confluences association, this festival of contemporary and world music brings together some 5,000 festival-goers around paid and free concerts.

In Montpellier, festivities are organized at l'Opéra Comédie, Fonds régional d'art contemporain Occitanie Montpellier, Rockstore, Théâtre Jean-Claude Carrière, Corum...

On this occasion, the city is hosting "Les 24 heures dément(es)", a free 24-hour musical marathon featuring a dozen artists in unusual and emblematic Montpellier venues. These include the Mo.Co Panacée, the Hôtel de Lunas, the Salle Molière at the Corum, and the Jardin du Peyrou.

The festival aims to introduce the public to up-and-coming artists. Montpellier's venues have seen the likes of Olivia Ruiz, Anna Calvi, Izia and Stuck In the Sound before these artists went on to fill Zeniths.

In addition, the festival organizes the 100 guitars project, which brings together 100 amateur guitarists for a major concert. The aim is to promote the practice of the instrument and put the region's guitarists in the spotlight.

The festival also organizes the 100 guitars project, which brings together 100 amateur guitarists for a major concert.
